Favourite Dr David R. Hawkins Teachings
Dr David Hawkins teaches us that we are all calibrated on a scale of consciousness. He explains that because we suppress the negative emotions that we experience they become trapped within us, causing disease or ‘dis-ease’ within our minds and bodies.
He teaches us a technique of letting go, in which you bring your attention to each negative emotion as it arises in the body, simply allowing it to rise to the surface and be released. It sounds incredibly simple and it is. The emotions themselves are perfectly natural and should be allowed to pass through our energetic systems. By trying to suppress or squash them down, we do not let them pass through us. If we can learn to release the energy instead we can raise our vibration back to its original state, continuing to progress up the scale of consciousness as we continually release and let go of any negativity.

Key Dr David R. Hawkins Takeaways
Whenever you feel a negative emotion trapped inside you, normally in your chest or stomach, hold your attention on that emotion. Allow it to be present and mentally try to accept it and embrace it, letting it burn itself away or rise up and flow out of you. Repeat this until you are no longer able to detect that negative emotion within you. Dr David Hawkins describes it like this: “Letting go involves being aware of a feeling, letting it come up, staying with it, and letting it run its course without wanting to make it different or do anything about it. It means simply to let the feeling be there and to focus on letting out the energy behind it.“
