An evening in the company of Eckhart Tolle is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most enlightened spiritual teachers.
Recently we were lucky enough to watch Eckhart give a live talk at London’s stunning Royal Albert Hall. The humble staging speaks volumes about him and his lack of ego and, as always, the teachings he shared were profound and transformative.
We have compiled our top eight takeaways so everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the teachings he shared, even if you weren’t able to be there in person:
Top Learnings from Eckhart Tolle Talk in London
1. We perceive ourselves as people that exist within space and time – this sense of self is based on accumulations from the past. But there is also a transcendent entity that exists beyond space and time. This is our true identity.
2. We live in a world now with so many devices – be careful of them. Use them but don’t be used by them. In the same way that you should use your mind as a tool but avoid being used by your mind. To be unconscious is to be possessed by the mind.
3. Love is the recognition of oneness in another.
4. Once you are awakened, when things go wrong they can be challenging but they can no longer make you unhappy.
5. The transcendent source of all life emanates consciousness into this world in the same way as the sun emanates light. Consciousness is the light of life that transcends into this dimension.
6. You don’t have a life. You ARE life. You don’t have consciousness. You ARE consciousness.
7. The only thing that matters in the rest of your so called life is not “what” you do but “how” you do it – i.e. consciously.
8. Your mission is to be a human “being” not a human “doing”.
